The first children’s book about geothermal energy released in Taiwan: Our Hidden powers

The children's book "Our Hidden Power" from Sweden is officially published in Traditional Chinese – "我們的隱藏力量:風光水火土  打造永續地球", as the first children’s book in Taiwan to introduce geothermal and renewable energy. Just after its release, the book is soon received its supporters and ambassadors from various entities, including the industry, government sector, NGOs, research entities, and academia groups.

On July 9, the book launch event was hold at Renewable Energy Fun Day (綠能智遊日) hosted both by Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Discovery. Kids and families experienced the renewable energy world together with charming characters, Ignis and her friends, Sunny, Windy, Terry, and Kai through body painting, drawing, and reading session.

The book is also honoured to be introduced in Swedish Representative Anders Wollter’s video, which is recorded for National Museum of Taiwan Literature’s special campaign - “Share SDGs-themed stories from your country.” The book is selected as one of children’s books from Sweden spread the knowledge of sustainability and renewable energy.

"Our Hidden Powers" is a fun and engaging way to teach children about renewable energy. Leverage the children’s book, we hope to create a light-hearted and fun-filled way to spread the knowledge of renewable energy and the importance of collaboration. Also, with the charming character, Ignis and her friends, the book is aimed to create meaningful memories and discussions between children and the adults in their lives and inspire them to explore their own advantages and hidden powers.

Since the new release in April, a total of 7,000 copies have been sold worldwide, translated into English, Swedish, Chinese, Italian, etc. Special thanks to the supports and attentions from book ambassadors and supporters in Taiwan, including Fabulous Group, Geological Society Located in Taipei, National Association of Professional Applied Geologist, Science and Technology Research Institute for DE-Carbonization (STRIDE-C), NTU, and Department of Geosciences, NTU. Look forward to raising the awareness of geothermal energy and renewable energy, and achieving the sustainable future together.
